Southwest Conference Announces Women's Tennis All-Conference,
All-Division Teams and Awards April 24, 2002 |

RICHARDSON, TEXAS-American Southwest Conference champion Hardin-Simmons University landed two players on the six-member All-Conference Women's Tennis team released today (April 24) by the league office. HSU senior Megan Johnston and sophomore Nancy Chandler are joined by sophomore Lauren Bicker of team runner-up Mississippi College, sophomore Andrea Hidalgo of East Division runner-up UT-Dallas, junior Christina Reimers of Sul Ross State University and freshman Marie Williams of Howard Payne University. Chandler and Hidalgo are both second-time all-conference award winners, each earning the honor in 2001. In addition to the All-Conference team, the ASC announced the East and West Division teams as well as individual award winners. Howard Payne University freshman Marie Williams was voted both Most Valuable Player and Freshman of the Year in the West Division. Bicker was chosen Most Valuable Player in the East Division with teammate Leigh Jackson selected East Freshman of the Year.
