Two American Southwest Conference players are among the 45 players on the 2002 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-America teams announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. East Texas Baptist University sophomore outfielder Tonya Minor (Bullard, Texas) was named to the All-America First-Team. ETBU sophomore catcher Angela Gonzales (Magnolia, Texas) was selected to the All-America Third-Team. Minor and Gonzales were NFCA All-West Region First-Team honorees Minor led the ASC in hits (66), runs scored (57) and stolen bases (33-35), and batted .420 for the year - second-best in the league. She was selected to the ASC All-Conference team and the ASC East Division First-Team. The ASC Softball Tournament Most Valuable Player, Gonzales finished with a .348 batting average and drove-in 36 runs.
