Brotherton Claims National Championship, While Indians Finish Sixth

NCAA Track and FieldMar. 17---After taking a year off from competition, McMurry University junior Cody Brotherton won the shot put national title at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships last weekend. Brotherton threw a personal-best and McMurry record 57-2 to help lead the Indians to a program-high sixth-place finish at the indoor nationals.

Jerrod Cook and Ryder Peacock joined Brotherton at the Indoor National Championship. Cook placed sixth in the weight throw, setting the school record with a personal-best 58-8 3/4 toss. Peacock finished fifth in the high jump after clearing 6-9 3/4.
