Around the Conference . . .
Several American Southwest Conference track and field teams open a busy month competing in weekend invitational meets in Texas, all looking to prepare for the conference championship meet April 24-25 in Abilene.

A second Texas Lutheran school record fell at last weekend's Trinity University Invitational as Jessica Roderique cleared 8-0 in the pole vault.
Mississippi College freshman Matt Manning re-set the school's 5000-meeter run record for a third consecutive week, this time bettering his own mark by four seconds with a 15:40.16 timing at the University of Memphis Big Cat Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 29). Manning's school record was his second of the day as he broke the Choctaws' 1500-meter run mark with a 4:10.68 effort. The 1500-m mark was the oldest held at MC since the program moved to NCAA-III.
