Four ASC Teams Represented at NCAA Golf Championships
May 9, 2003

Four American Southwest Conference golf teams will be represented at the 2003 NCAA Division III Golf Championships.

Conference men's champion University of Texas at Dallas earned an at-large berth in the NCAA-III Men's Golf Championships. UTD, ranked among the top 10 in the weekly Golf Stat rankings much of the spring season, is one of 23 teams competing in the national tournament and represents the West Region. Competition is scheduled May 12-15 at Dornoch Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.

Two ASC women's teams, conference champion University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and runner-up McMurry University, are two of 10 teams competing for the NCAA-III Women's Golf Championship. Theresa Ashorn of Texas Lutheran University was also selected as an individual player in the tournament, giving the ASC 11 of the 60 golfers in this year's national field. Competition in the 72-hole tournament is scheduled May 13-16 at The Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake, Wis.

Mary Hardin-Baylor finished runner-up for the NCAA-III women's title a year ago and has been second in the weekly Golf Stat national rankings throughout the spring season.
