CLINTON, MS - McMurry University dominated the American Southwest Conference Track and Field Championship winning both the men and women's titles. The women outdistanced Texas Lutheran University 298-210 while the men finished with 374.5 points, well ahead of second place Howard Payne with 131.5 points.

On the women's side, McMurry's Darcell Edwards claimed the individual points title as well as the Most Valuable Female Field athlete. TLU's Samara Williams earned the Most Valuable Female Track athlete from the coaches with teammate Natalie Wood winning the Freshman of the Year award. TLU's Kandice Hollaman was selected as the Female Coach of the Year.

For the men, Howard Payne's Quinton Boldon won the high point award and the Most Valuable Male Track Athlete despite McMurry's dominance in team points. McMurry Jerrod Cook and Matt Brown earned Most Valuable Male Field athlete and Freshman of the Year honors respectively. Barbara Crousen of McMurry was selected Male Coach of the Year.
