Lindsey Kolmeier Tops List of AVCA Award Recipients

Lindsey KolmeierTexas Lutheran senior outside hitter Lindsey Kolmeier became the second consecutive American Southwest Conference player to be named to the Honorable Mention All-America team announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, topping the list of conference players earning All-South Region honors.

Kolmeier helped lead TLU to the ASC West Division and conference titles, advancing to the NCAA Division III South Region championship match. A team captain, Kolmeier averaged 4.08 kills behind a .250 attack percentage. She also registered 48 blocks, 329 digs and 53 service aces in her final collegiate season.

She follows Austin College outside hitter Rebecca Harpham (2003) on the conference’s list of AVCA Honorable Mention All-Americans.

Kolmeier also earned a place on the AVCA South Region First Team while conference standouts setter Allison Castillo (Texas Lutheran), hitter Angela Kopecki (Texas Lutheran) and setter Veronica Stephens (Austin College) were each named to the South Region honorable mention team.

Castillo was named the ASC West Player of the Year, All-Conference and ASC West First-Team. Kopecki earned ASC West Second Team honors. An All-Conference selection, Stephens was named ASC East Player of the Year and ASC East First Team.
