"Final Four" Heading to Marshall, Texas

ASC baseball's "final four" -- East Texas Baptist, Concordia-Austin, Hardin-Simmons and Texas Lutheran -- will make their way to Young Field in Marshall, Texas for the May 6-8 championship round of the ASC Baseball Championship Tournament. The foursome advance in the conference playoff after winning their first round best-of-three game series on Saturday (April 30).
Division top seeds East Texas Baptist and Texas Lutheran won easily on Saturday. ETBU upended McMurry 9-0 to win the Game 1 series after taking Friday's game 11-2. The #23-ranked Tigers, the lone ASC East Division team remaining in the playoffs, also earned the right to host the tournament's final round. No. 29-ranked Texas Lutheran beat Mississippi College 12-6 on Saturday to claim the Game 4 series two games to none. TLU won the first game 4-2 on Friday.
Hardin-Simmons came back from Friday's 5-3 loss to UT-Dallas, winning two games on Saturday to advance in the playoffs. HSU came back for a 2-1, 10-inning win to force a third game, then pelted UTD pitchers for 15 hits to clinch the Game 2 series with a 6-1 win. Concordia-Austin went on the road and swept Louisiana College in the Game 3 series, winning 8-7 on Friday and 14-4 on Saturday.
