Hardin-Simmons Ends Women's Tennis Season at NCAA Tourney

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Hardin-Simmons' women's tennis team lost in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships, 5-2, to Trinity on Sunday evening in San Antonio. The 2005 ASC champion Cowgirls finish the season 16-7.

The Cowgirls won a point at No. 2 doubles with a win by Caroline Scott and Hazel de la Torre. McKenzie Swindle won the Cowgirls only singles match at No. 4, 6-4, 6-2 over Megan Suarez. Two matches were left unfinished when the Tigers clinched the match.

1. Christy Austin/Laura Steinmetz (TU) def. Stephanie Haynes/Sarah Beth Bolin (HSU) 8-0
2. Caroline Scott/Hazel de la Torre (HSU) def. Jackie Mendillo/Megan Suarez (TU) 8-6
