  RICHARDSON,
Texas ---- East Texas Baptist University junior forward Janna
Wilson (Longview, Texas/Pine Tree HS) and University of Texas at
Dallas sophomore defender Kelli Jackson (Tulsa, Okla./Union
HS) were named players of the year and headline the list of American
Southwest Conference women’s soccer 2005 season awards announced
by the 14 conference head coaches on Tuesday (Nov. 8).
Wilson, named the ASC Offensive Player of the Year,
totaled 51 points in league games, scoring 20 goals and assisting on
11 other scores to lead East Texas Baptist to a third-place finish in
the conference season. 
The ASC Defensive Player of the Year, Jackson scored 4 goals and 1
assist in conference games (9 pts.) and spearheaded a Comet defense
that allowed only 4 goals to league opponents. Wilson and Jackson were
also All-ASC First Team selections.
A pair of first-year players were also honored by
the ASC coaches. East Texas Baptist forward Alina Kilkenny
(Tyler, Texas/Christian Heritage HS) was named ASC Offensive
Freshman of the Year while Hardin-Simmons University defender Kelly
Watson (Mansfield, Texas/MHS) was named ASC Defensive
Freshman of the Year.
  Kilkenny
was also selected to All-ASC Second Team honors while Watson was voted
to the All-ASC Third Team.
Texas-Dallas head coach John Antonisse and
East Texas Baptist head coach Trey Carlile were named ASC
Co-Coach of the Year by their conference peers.
