TYLER, Texas The Texas-Tyler men's cross country team ended the 2006 season with another dominating performance, this time winning the American Southwest Conference Championships handily. Running at home, head coach Bob Hepler's Patriots were led by Ben Donnan, who won his second race of the year. Donnan finished the 8K race in 26:16, thirteen seconds ahead of Chauncey Deller. Warren Brown finished third with a time of 26:45. The Patriots took five of the top seven spots in the championships. Corey Kellam was fifth with a time of 27:02 and William Ritter was seventh with a 27:15. The championship meet proved to be a two-team race, with Texas-Tyler and McMurry runners combining to take the first seventeen places. The Patriots finished with 18 points, followed by McMurry (37) and Mississippi College (98). |
