May 18 -- Texas Lutheran Posts Best-Ever Finish at NCAA D-III
Mens Golf Championships; McMurrys McElreath Places 6th
Texas Lutheran posted its tournament-best team score
of 303 in Fridays final round of the NCAA Division III Mens
Golf Championships and collected a school-best seventh-place finish,
while McMurry senior Rode McElreath placed sixth individually. At
Hawthorns Golf and Country Club, the Bulldogs entered the fourth round
in a tie for 11th. All five TLU golfers put up final rounds at 77 or
lower to jump the team four spots in the standings. McMurry,
meanwhile, shot a final-round 316 an eight-stroke improvement
from Thursday to finish in a tie for 19th.

Into Tie for 17th at NCAA D-III Championships
The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs finished 19th at the
2007 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships, which concluded
Friday after four rounds at the El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission
Inn Resort & Club in Howie-In-The-Hills, Fla. Hardin-Simmons
senior Kristi Martin, playing as an individual, finished in a tie for
18th, earning her All-American recognition.

Texas Lutheran Sweeps ASC Golf Championships
The Texas Lutheran men and women each held on to
their first-day leads and went on to produce a sweep at the American
Southwest Conference Golf Championships on a misty Tuesday at par-72
Stonebridge Ranch Country Club The Hills Course in McKinney,
Texas. The TLU men won the crown for the second straight year, while
the TLU women captured their first-ever ASC golf title snapping
Mary Hardin-Baylors streak of seven straight championships. Each
received the conferences first automatic bids to the NCAA
national tournament.
ASC Golf Championships Ready To Tee Off
Beginning on Monday morning, the two-day 2007 ASC
Golf Championships will be underway at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club
- on The Hills Course -- in McKinney, Texas. Eight men's teams
will be competing, while six women's squads will duel. Both winners
will receive an automatic bid to their respective NCAA national
tournaments. Texas Lutheran is the defending men's champion -- the
fourth different team to win in four years -- and the Mary
Hardin-Baylor women return with seven consecutive titles.
