May 26 -- Men's Relay Team From McMurry Wins National Title;
MC's Winsley Takes Top Athlete Award to Highlight ASC Representatives
in NCAA D-III Outdoor Championships
McMurry's 4X100-meter relay team of Hann Ollison,
Bert Green, Chris Kelley and John Mikalik ran a 40.51 to win the
national title by 0.8 seconds at the NCAA Divsion III Men's and
Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held May 24-26 at J.J.
Keller Field at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, Wisc. Mississippi College
junior Al Winsley was named the Division III National Field Athlete of
the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association after finishing second -- by one inch -- in the high jump
and placing fifth in the long jump. The women's 4x100 relay team from
Texas Lutheran collected a third-place finish.
May 21 -- 22 ASC Athletes Headed To D-III Outdoor Track &
Field Championships
22 athletes from American Southwest Conference
members will be headed to the Division III Mens and Womens
Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the NCAA announced late Sunday.
McMurry (Bert Green, Chris Kelley, John Mikalik, Hanneus Ollison, Amos
Davidson, Adam Davidson, Thomas Dimitri and Zach Shew; Quinesha
Franklin, Molly Fuston, Taron Weaver, Richalle Wright and Samantha
Burgess), Texas Lutheran (Taffey Gray, Staci Jackson, Casey Toombs,
Ashley Williams, Amber Meeks, Jessica Raglon and Natalie Wood),
Mississippi College (Al Winsley, Bridget Foreman) and Sul Ross State
(Austin Davidson) will have representatives. The event will be held
May 24-26 at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh, Wisc.
Apr 21 -- McMurry Sweeps Again at ASC Track and Field
Championships
The American Southwest Conference Track and Field
Championships concluded at in Clinton, Miss., on Saturday with McMurry
winning both the men's and women's titles for the second consecutive
year -- this time with scores of 341 and 301, respectively.
Apr 19 -- ASC Weekly Track and Field Report
The 2007 American Southwest Conference Track and
Field Championships, hosted by Mississippi College, are set to go
Friday and Saturday (April 20-21) at Robinson Hale Stadium in Clinton,
Miss. Teams represented besides the Choctaws and Lady Choctaws will be
Howard Payne (men and women), McMurry (men and women), Sul Ross State
(men and women) and Texas Lutheran (women). McMurry swept both team
titles last season. Head coach Barbara Crousens men have won six
straight crowns, while her women have claimed seven of the last eight

Mar 9 -- TLU Womens 4x400 Relay Team Wins
NCAA D-III Championship
Texas Lutheran's women's 4x400 meter relay team of Taffey Gray, Staci
Jackson, Ashley Williams and Casey Toombs won the NCAA Division III
Indoor Track & Field National Championship with a time of 3
minutes, 52.17 seconds Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind. The Bulldogs won
the title by .04 over Illinois Wesleyan at the Rose-Hulman Institute
of Technology Sport and Recreation Center.
