Nov 9 -- Hardin-Simmons Falls in 5 to Austin College in
Volleyball Regionals
American Southwest Conference champion Hardin-Simmons
won the first two games against No. 19-ranked Austin College on
Thursday in San Antonio, Texas, and had the Kangaroos to match point
in the third frame. But AC rallied for a 35-33 win, then went on to
advance in the South Regional of the NCAA Division III Women's
Volleyball Championship.

Nov 4 -- Hardin-Simmons Wins First ASC Volleyball Title
Hardin-Simmons
dropped the first game to Texas-Dallas on Saturday in Seguin, Texas,
but the Cowgirls responded by reeling off three straight wins to
capture their first American Southwest Conference volleyball
championship and an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III
Volleyball Championship.

American Southwest Conference West Division volleyball title for the
fifth time in seven years and the right to host the 2006 ASC
Volleyball Championship Tournament at Tostengard Activity Center in
Seguin, Texas, beginning on Friday and lasting through Saturday.

The second and final Volleyball Crossover Tournament
of the 2006 season -- hosted by both East Texas Baptist and
Texas-Tyler -- concluded on Saturday. Texas-Dallas (4-0) and Texas

Aug 22 - East Texas Baptist, Hardin-Simmons Favorite Choices for
2006 Volleyball Crowns
East Texas Baptist University and Hardin-Simmons
University have been predicted to win the American Southwest
Conference East and West Division volleyball titles, respectively,
after a vote of the league's 14 head coaches and sports information
directors. ETBU became the favorite after 2005 East champion and
national tournament participant Austin College left the conference.
The Lady Tigers picked up nine first-place votes and 66 points, while
ASC championship tournament finalist HSU tallied 95 points and all but
two first-place votes.
